Psychology Today: It’s an awesome platform to find a therapist who fits what you’re looking for—whether that’s the type of therapy, the therapist’s gender, or whether you want in-person or virtual sessions. Therapy is such a powerful tool, especially when you find the right fit for you.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is often called the "gold standard" of trauma therapy. It uses bilateral stimulation, activating both sides of the brain through movements like tapping or eye tracking, while talking through experiences to process trauma, uncertainty, or distressing events in a safe environment. EMDR can be mentally and emotionally tiring, so it’s important to be comfortable and give yourself time to be mindful afterward (space and grace) before jumping back into daily life.

I’m familiar with EMDR and have personally found it helpful in processing past life situations. This therapy is facilitated by a trained health professional, such as a psychologist, psychiatrist, or social worker—someone with formal education and expertise in trauma treatment. It’s essential to find a practitioner you feel safe with and trust. EMDR isn’t a “life coach” style of therapy—it requires proper training, and when not done correctly, it can do more harm than good.

ADHD

ADHD In Adults

Women & ADHD Podcast: I love this podcast! It’s all about real conversations with women who have ADHD, sharing experiences and struggles that are often not talked about. If you’re looking for support with ADHD, you won’t feel alone. Plus, at the end of each episode, the host asks her guests to come up with a new term for ADHD that represents them, instead of just the clinical label.

Canadian ADHD Online Clinics

ADHD Dartmouth South Professional Centre: You’ll need a referral from your doctor (Maple works too) to access their services. Once you’re referred, the clinic will guide you to your first in-person appointment.
